My name is Salsabil Qaddoura. I am a Muslim, American-Palestinian born in Texas and Hoosier raised. I have grown to be proud of my name, my culture, my identity, and my accomplishments and use my experiences as a platform to lift others up.
I like to consider myself a product of the American Dream: my mother was born to a hard-working, poor family. My father is an immigrant who came to America with an open mind and empty pockets. Every step of the way, despite our situation, my parents invested in my sister and I to become educated young women who can give back to our communities and remember that, no matter how hard (or easy) times get, to stick to our morality.
Life experiences brought me here, to being a high schooler graduating two years early with the senior class of 2024.
I underwent a metamorphosis. I learned, I grew, I explored, I understood, and most importantly, I will never stop doing those things.
My lived experiences guided me to be an accomplished high school journalist, student, and individual. I strive to continue to evolve, learn from my mistakes, and inspire others so I can continue to better serve my community while maintaining a strong moral compass.
Outside of my journalism, academics, and advocacy work, I love to watch Remember The Titans (or any Denzel Washington movie), read, travel, learn about other cultures, hang out with my family, or listen to Drake.
